What are Dashers miles?

Put simply, Dashers Miles are miles run by Dashers in races while wearing club kit. After every race that we know about, we multiply the number of finishers by the race distance and add that to the running total.

How do Dashers miles work?

We pick a destination and agree how for it is from "here" to there, wherever here happens to be at the time. We then run until we reach our destination.

What happens when we reach the current destination?

When we reach our current destination, we'll arrange a social event that is in some way connected with that city. For example, our second destination was Reims, the capital of the Champagne region in France - so we're having some champagne after running one night.

Whoever ran the miles that got us "over the line" gets to pick the next destination.

How do we pick a destination?

Whoever's miles helped us reach our destination gets to chose the next destination. The picker can also provide a reason/excuse or suggestion for a social event to tie in with our arrival at the destination.

What are the rules? Which miles count and which don't?

  • Miles run are rounded down to the nearest mile - XCs count 5 miles, 5ks & Club Time Trials count 3 miles.
  • Runners must be a paid-up member of the Datchet Dashers, enter as a Datchet Dasher, and wear club kit.
  • If you ran a race and wore club kit, let me know using the links at the bottom of this page.
  • Races on the same day as a Club Championship race are excluded.
  • Miles are applied in race finish order.
  • Destinations should be a well known town/city in the same or a bordering country.
  • Google Maps http://maps.google.co.uk (or similar) to be used for routes & distances.
  • Miles crossing the sea do not count.
