Summer
The Lady Dashers have had a great summer season ….
Well done to Jackie Stallwood, who set a new Cub Record each time she ran a 5K this summer!
Rhian Coles had a great run at Wargrave 10K to claim the 100 points with a PB performance. Good solid runs by Yvonne Olny and Isabelle Huxstead, Sunita Dowett had a good strong finish, as did Kathryn Black who ran a very determined race and was rewarded with a PB.
Elaine Culvewell gets faster and faster, and was the first lady dasher home at Handy Cross 5K and Woodland 5 and a bit (where she was actually the 4th senior lady to finish! - Well done Elaine!
Holly Seear has run really well in all her races, and is looking very impressive at 2nd in the Championship table.
Lesley Wege made her come back race at Handy Cross, and followed it up with a fine performance at Yateley 10K. Michelle Allmark also continues to make a good recovery from injury, and had a solid run at Handy Cross 5K. And we’ve seen the welcome return to Amy Jennings, who is running well, and has lost none of her competitive spirit!
Sian Huntley-James is having a good run of runs, at Woodland 5 and a bit, Yateley 10K and Burnham Half. Special thanks to Sian for doing the Woodland 5 (I know you don’t like it!) – just so that she can complete 6 Club Championship events.
Special congratulations to Jean Hayton who ran in the Woodland 5 and a bit (even though she doesn’t like it), and finished Yateley 10K where she tripped and fell at 5K – but soldered on with bandaged hands and grazed legs! (Hope you’re fixed soon Jean!) – in order to be able to complete 6 Club Championship events. This is true dedication, and Jean is an absolute hero!
Thanks also to Mike Hayton who entered Jean into these races, and drove her, Billy Bhamra and Joyce Clarke – so that they too could complete their races. Good running by all three ladies.
Congratulations to Lucy Buckby – first Lady Dasher at Burnham Half Marathon, and to Barbara Mason for a PB at Burnham Half Marathon.
Kate Galbraith tops the Club Championship table, but Elaine looks a strong contender if she competes in the last race.
So far 8 ladies have completed at least 6 races!!! This is brilliant, but I still want 2 more! This is perfectly possible as 5 ladies have done 5 races (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!), with 1 race remaining -Virginia Water Paddle, ~9 miles on 12.10.08 -
SO JUST DO IT!!
... BUT REMEMBER TO DO IT IN YOUR DASHERS KIT - OR YOU WON’T GET YOUR POINTS!!
